It’s usually a good idea to rent a car in St. Thomas. You can probably skip the rental if your only plan is to go back and forth between your hotel and the beach—but if you’re looking to go hiking or explore attractions like Drake’s Seat or the 99 Steps, then *you’ll need a car to get around.
