Soul is certainly unique, with its boxy design and small size. Though some people confuse it for a sedan, in terms of class, a Kia Soul is actually a subcompact crossover SUV. This class has a very specific name, so let’s break it down. Crossovers have a body and frame that’s built in a single piece, which is called unibody construction. This is the same type of body used by a sedan and is lighter and generally more fuel-efficient than a typical SUV, which has a body and frame that are built separately.
