Does reckless driving violate probation?

I’m currently on probation for a few mistakes I made when I was younger. With that said, I was charged with reckless driving the other day for running a stoplight. I thought I was merely distracted, but the officer thought otherwise. Will this reckless charge violate my probation?

Probation is better than jail time, so at least you have a silver lining. Whether or not reckless driving violates probation depends on where you live and the language in your probation agreement.
First-time offenders of
reckless driving
may not receive a misdemeanor charge; depending on the circumstances.
In addition, you should look in your probation agreement. This document outlines the terms and conditions of your probation, as well as what may happen if you break them.
The judgment of the officer dictates if they charge you with reckless driving, so you may be able to plead guilty to a lesser charge. Hiring a lawyer is a smart move if you feel like you may be able to plead the charge down or you need legal counsel.
If you’re already on probation, you’re best to err on the side of caution and stay out of trouble. But if you want to stay out of financial trouble on top of that, use the
