A 2013 Nissan Leaf battery upgrade is possible and costs anywhere from $5,000 to $19,500. All 2011 to 2017 Nissan Leafs are equipped with a 24kWh battery pack, but they can easily be upgraded to a larger battery from a newer model. Here are the options:
  • 30kWh battery, 105-110 mile range ($8,000 to $9,000)
  • 40kWh battery, 130-150 mile range ($12,000 to $13,500)
  • New 40kWh battery, 160-170 mile range ($14,000 to $14,500)
  • 62kWh battery, 230-240 mile range ($17,500 to $19,500)
The cost of a battery upgrade will depend on the size of the battery you want to upgrade to, labor costs, and any additional repairs needed.
