How often should a car be driven?

I have a classic 1968 Ford Mustang. While I love to drive it, I don’t want to put tons of miles on it. How often should I drive the car to keep it in running condition?

Wow! A 1968
Ford Mustang
is one of those cars that most people only dream of owning. While keeping low miles on classic cars is important, you should drive a car at least once every two weeks for roughly 15 minutes.
The reason why you need to drive your Mustang somewhat regularly—or any other car, for that matter—is to maintain its mechanical condition. More specifically, driving your car at least every two weeks ensures that the:
  • Battery stays charged
  • Oil doesn’t settle
  • Seals stay lubricated and don’t dry out
  • Fluids don’t separate
  • Brakes stay maintained
  • Fuel system stays clean
  • Tires aren’t damaged due to flat spots
Even if you’re only going to drive your car a few times a month, you still need a
classic car insurance policy
to protect it. And while you’re looking at policies for classic cars, you may as well shop for better car insurance rates for your other vehicles with the
