How many quarts of oil are needed for a Honda Accord 4-cylinder?
I have a 2019 Honda Accord and have been taking my car to the shop for oil changes. I want to do the next oil change myself to save money since prices have gotten more expensive! How many quarts of oil do I need?

Doing your own oil changes is a great way to save! The 2019 Honda Accord will need 3.7 quarts or 5 quarts of engine oil for the 1.5L engine and 2.0L engine, respectively.
Honda recommends using genuine Honda Motor Oil 0W-20 or API premium-grade 0W-20 detergent oil. Using a different oil than recommended could damage your engine and even void your warranty, so substituting the oil type should be avoided.
In most cases, you should be changing your engine oil every 7,500 to 10,000 miles. To confirm if you need an oil change, you can look for the following signs when you check your oil level:
- Engine oil has turned dark brown or black
- Engine oil has a gritty texture
- Engine oil gives off an abnormal smell
Other tell-tale signs include decreased fuel efficiency and odd sounds coming from the engine.
While doing your own oil changes can help you save on maintenance costs, it can also be damaging to your engine if done incorrectly. As a result, you could end up paying more for repair costs!
