How long will a home insurance company give you to replace a roof?

My home insurance company is threatening to cancel my insurance unless I replace the roof. How long do I typically have to replace this roof?

“That’s a stressful situation to be in, sorry to hear it!
The timeframe for replacing your roof will vary considerably depending on the insurance company.
In general, you should have at least a month to fix your roof before your insurance company cancels your policy. When your insurance company sent you the notice about your roof, they should have also included a time frame, so be sure to double-check the notice.
If you don’t see a time frame, call your insurance provider. It’s important to have clarification on their expectations before you start replacing your roof.
If the time frame seems unreasonable or isn’t achievable for you, start shopping for a new home insurance provider. If you have a separate
car insurance
policy, you can request a quote for
bundling both home and auto
policies, which can often result in discounts.
You can also use a smart comparison tool like
Jerry
to pull multiple quotes for your to help you find the best rates in the least amount of time.”
