How long will a DUI stay on my driving record in Oregon?

A few weeks ago, I was leaving happy hour with a few work friends when I got pulled over and charged with a DUI. I’m freaking out because I have an otherwise-spotless record. How long will this DUI stay on my Oregon driving record?

A DUI will stay on your
Oregon driving record
for life.
In
Oregon
, this offense is called
Driving While Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII)
, and you can be charged if your blood alcohol content is 0.08 percent or higher.
While Oregon allows some crimes to be expunged from your record, this does not include traffic-related offenses or DUIIs. However, if you were only charged with a DUII but never convicted for any reason, you may be able to have your DUII arrest hidden from your record.
If you’ve been arrested for DUII but haven’t yet been convicted, you might be eligible for Oregon’s diversion program. Completing this program will dismiss the charge; however, the arrest will remain on your record—just without an accompanying conviction.
Having serious convictions on your record will lead to much higher
car insurance
rates. When you use the
Jerry
app, you can be sure you’re getting the best deals possible on car insurance coverage.
