How long should I wait for a car wash after a windshield replacement?

I got a new windshield this morning and I’m road-tripping this weekend. I wanted to get my car spiffy before driving, but I don’t want to mess up the installation. How long should I wait for a car wash after a windshield replacement?

This is a great question! At minimum, you should wait 24 hours for a car wash after a windshield replacement.
If you absolutely must get your car washed before your
road trip
, please wait at least 24 hours.
To guarantee proper installation, it’s better to wait a few days to allow the urethane seal time to cure. Car washes use very high-pressure water streams. These could loosen the seal if it hasn’t had time to cure!
Before you hit the road for your trip, make sure you’re happy with your
car insurance
situation. For instance, it’s really easy to add
AAA roadside assistance
. You can use the
Jerry
app to manage it all.
