Does a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek have a timing belt?

I own a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek. On my last car, I remember I needed to replace the engine’s timing belt at one point. Will I need to do the same for my Subaru? Does a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek have a timing belt?

You shouldn’t! The 2014
Subaru Crosstrek
does not have a timing belt. Instead, it uses a timing chain.
Timing belts and timing chains have the same job—to keep the engine’s pistons and valves moving together to keep the camshaft and crankshaft synchronized. The difference is the material they’re made with: a timing belt is thick rubber, while a timing chain is metal.
A timing belt gets worn down and needs replacing every 60,000 to 100,000 miles. A timing chain does not need replacement and should, hopefully, last the engine’s lifetime.
