I’m 16 and I want to take my driving test as soon as possible to get my license. How long does scheduling a driving test usually take?

Getting your license as a
teenager
means freedom and excitement! The good news is that it takes only a minute or two to schedule a driving test.
The easiest way to schedule a driving test is to set one up online. Most DMVs and Secretary of State offices have quick, easy online appointment-setting. You simply choose the location and the time you want.
If that’s not an option for whatever reason, you can book an appointment in person by visiting the DMV where you want to take the test.
Bear in mind that you may also need to upload documents or bring them to the test. These documents include:
  • Proof of identity
  • Proof of residency
  • Social Security card
  • Birth certificate
Once you’ve scheduled your driving test, you’re one step away from getting your license! But don’t forget that to legally drive, you’ll need car insurance. Insurance is notoriously expensive for
teens
and first-time drivers—but
