How do you get your car insurance policy number?

I got into an accident and need to file a claim. I need my car insurance policy number, but I don’t know where to find it.

insurance policy number
 on your
insurance card
 and on your insurance policy documents.
If you can’t find your insurance card, you will need to get it replaced as soon as possible. You can also find the insurance policy number by:
  • Calling your insurance agent
  • Logging into your account on your insurance company’s website to review digital copies of your insurance documents
