How do you fix a squeaky car door?

My right rear passenger door has started to squeak whenever someone opens it. How do I fix it?

As annoying as that is, the solution is pretty simple. Most likely, your door’s hinge just needs some lubricant to quiet that squeaking. You can try using:
  • Hairspray
  • A bar of soap
  • WD-40
  • Non-stick cooking spray
To use any of these, apply a small amount of the product to the hinges. Open and close
the door
slightly while doing this so the lubricant can get into the hinges.
If you notice some rust in the hinges, WD-40 and cooking spray help break rust down. Take some steel wool after applying WD-40 or cooking oil and brush at the rust.
