. Read the instructions before applying for information on diluting the product. If the product is one that you haven’t used before, it's a good idea to test a small concealed area first to catch any adverse effects.
Gently scrub the area with a soft-bristled brush. The purpose of this step is to loosen the oil or grease particles and work in the cleaner. Apply only light pressure while scrubbing so as not to push the stain farther into the fabric.
Clean the area with a damp cloth. Use a clean damp cloth or microfiber towel to remove any remaining product. Wipe the affected area and rinse the cloth as needed.
Repeat the cleaning process if necessary. Set-in stains might require more than one application of the product. Take it step by step to avoid adding too much product at one time, and always rinse the area with a damp cloth in between applications.
Dry the area with a clean dry towel. Use a towel to soak up any remaining moisture. Allow the door to dry completely.
