“If you need to cancel insurance on a car, the process is actually pretty simple—you’ll just need to get in touch with your insurance provider.
First, you’ll want to give your insurer a call and ask them about the cancellation process. Some policies or companies handle cancellations differently than others.
Some companies will require that you pay a cancellation fee.
Progressive
usually does not impose this fee, but it will vary depending on where you live.
Some insurers will also require you to sign and deliver a cancellation letter.
Finally, you’ll receive a notice of policy cancellation, at which point your policy will be officially canceled.
