How do I open a Honda HRV rear door?

I just bought a new Honda HRV, but I’m having trouble with the rear door and can’t figure out how to open it. How can I open the rear door on a Honda HRV?

Congrats on the new purchase! Oddly enough, you’re not the only person having trouble with a seemingly simple situation. But don’t stress. To open a
Honda HRV
rear door, simply use the tailgate unlock button on your key fob.
The rear door, or tailgate, automatically locks when you close it. Since the button on the key fob to unlock the tailgate is a separate button from your normal unlock button, make sure you’re pressing the tailgate button denoted by the picture of the car with an open tailgate.
Also, make certain that you hold the button until the tailgate automatically rises. If it doesn’t rise on its own, it’s still locked. **When you close the Honda HRV rear door, it will lock automatically. So if you close it by accident, use the key fob to reopen it.
If that doesn’t work, you may have issues with your key fob. Replace the batteries as your first option. If that doesn’t fix it, take your car to the dealer to assess the situation.
Although
car insurance
is admittedly less glamorous than driving your new car, it’s a necessity. So don’t let money float out the tailgate of your HRV by failing to shop for insurance. Instead, use the
