How do I learn about Chevrolet vehicle recalls?

I’ve been driving Chevys all my life, so I know they can be subject to recalls every now and again. I haven’t heard anything about recalls lately, though, so how do I find out if my current ride is affected by one?

Chevrolet vehicle recalls are usually announced publicly and picked up by various news publications. Chevrolet also typically contacts affected owners directly. But this system isn’t foolproof, so to make sure you don’t miss any announced recalls, there are a few things you can do:
  • Head to the Chevrolet website to look up recalls listed on all Chevrolet vehicles
  • Check out recalls on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website
  • Look up recalls on the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) website
  • Visit Kelley Blue Book, click Car Recalls, and input your vehicle’s information, or just search for your make to see all recent recalls
Some of the most recent Chevrolet vehicle recalls include:
  • A recall on 2014-2015 Equinox models for defective windshield wipers.
  • A recall on 2017-2020 Bolt EVs due to electrical fires starting under the seats when the vehicle was parked. This recall was recently closed, though, and all affected vehicles have been serviced.
Making sure you’re prepared for potential problems with your Chevrolet is an excellent way to save money on unexpected repair costs. Another great way to save money is by shopping for car insurance on the Jerry app.
