How do I check if someone is insured on a car?
I was in a small accident with another driver, and we exchanged insurance information. I got a picture of her license plate and driver’s license, but it seems like the policy number she gave me was fake. What do I do now? How can I check if she was insured on her car?

Accidents are never fun and dishonest people can only make them more frustrating! Luckily, you can find out if the other driver was insured by going to the police, the DMV, or your
car insurance
provider.Since you have a picture of the driver’s license and license plate, you have just what you need to go to the DMV or the police. At either department, you’ll need to submit a request for the other driver’s information along with your personal information and a good, verifiable reason for the request.
Remember, both departments have the right to deny your request. Make sure your information is honest, complete, and current—otherwise, they may not help!
That being said, your best option is to go straight to your provider. They can use the license plate to find the other driver’s information—plus, they’re on your side! Once you give them the information they need, your provider should take care of the rest. They’ll work with the other insurance company to ascertain fault and walk you through the
