How can you afford car insurance?
How do most people afford car insurance? I'm struggling to keep up with my monthly payments. I don't get how other people do it.

can be expensive, so you’re not alone in your struggle. That said, there are ways to make car insurance more affordable! Here are a few tips for bringing down your insurance premium:
- Compare quotes from other providers: Premiums will vary drastically from one insurance company to the next, so look around before you settle.
- Search for discounts: Almost every provider offersbig discountsfor multi-policy holders, safe drivers, and bundling. Call your provider and ask which discounts you may be eligible for.
- Change your coverage: Every state has aminimum insurance requirement. While it’s best to carry higher than this limit, you can drop optional coverage, like towing or rental car coverage, to save on monthly payments.
- Sign up for a driving-tracker program: Some providers will let you download an app that tracks your driving and provides a discount if you’re a safe driver.
- Switch to a vehicle that’s cheaper to insure: Some cars are cheaper to insure than others. Make sure you’re driving acar with affordable insurance rates.
