How can I stop a car front glass crack?

I was driving to work on the highway a while ago and a rock hit my front window. It eventually turned into a crack, and the crack has gotten a little bit bigger. I don’t want it to grow any more! How can I stop a crack from spreading on my car’s windshield?

A crack in your car’s glass could cause some big problems if it continues to spread. A great rule of thumb is to replace or repair cracked glass as soon as you can.
However, if the crack is small, you can keep it from spreading by:
  • Applying clear nail polish or super glue to seal the crack
  • Preventing sudden temperature changes (don’t blast the heat or crank the AC)
  • Using a window repair kit
Since the damage to your car’s window was not in your control, you may be able to get some help from insurance if you
