How can a ticket affect my insurance?

I was recently pulled over for speeding. I got a ticket. Will this affect my insurance? I just started a new policy.

“Since you just started a new
car insurance
policy, it’s not likely that your speeding ticket will affect your insurance right away.
Most car insurance companies check your driving record when you first apply and when it’s time to renew your policy. If anything changes at renewal, your policy would be rerated.
Since, likely, your car insurance company has already pulled their final reports, your rate shouldn’t change until your renewal period. If you had a
clean driving record
initially, you may see an increase in your rate.
However, every insurance company is different. Depending on how new your policy is, they may not have sent your policy to underwriting for completion yet. If underwriting should find your speeding ticket, they may revise your rate.
If you end up with a rate change now or at policy renewal, the best thing you can do is shop around. By comparison shopping with the
Jerry
app, you may be able to find a better rate.”
