Have there been any Chevrolet Impala recalls?
I’m looking at used cars, but I want to make sure I get something that’s not going to fall apart on me. I’ve got my eye on a Chevrolet Impala right now, but I was wondering—were there ever any recalls on it?

The Chevrolet Impala has been subject to 25 recalls since it was reintroduced in 2000.
Here’s a list of recalls by year:
- 2006: Seat adjuster may separate from the mounting bracket, increasing the risk of injury
- 2008: Passenger side front airbag inflator could fracture, reducing the efficacy of deployment and possibly injuring passengers
- 2009: A broken steering knuckle could result in loss of steering control
- 2010: Safety belt may not restrain the occupant as intended
- 2011: Power steering fluid could flow onto the catalytic converter, resulting in an engine compartment fire
- 2013: Brake lights may intermittently flash without brakes being applied
- 2014: Shift cable may disengage from the transmission, making it impossible to shift, in addition to more issues with the body of the vehicle
- 2015: Brake pads may remain partially engaged, and friction may result in fire
- 2016: Front passenger seat sensor wire may be damaged failing to recognize the seat is occupied
- 2018: Improperly coated rear brake caliper pistons may result in the reduction of braking performance
As of today, there are four current recalls affecting the airbags, brakes, and seatbelts. Keep these in mind while deciding on purchasing that Impala!
