Does your driving record clear when you turn 18?

I know criminal charges against people under 18 are usually expunged or sealed on permanent records. I’m 17 and I got a speeding ticket last week, so I wasn’t sure if this applied to traffic violations. Will my driving record clear when I turn 18?

Driving
citations and tickets
do not fall off your record when you turn 18. However, most will fall off your record eventually.
The good news is that most tickets fall off your record within three to five years. This includes tickets such as speeding, improper lane usage, or distracted driving. The exact length that a citation stays on your driving record depends on your state.
However, serious offenses like reckless driving can stay on your record much longer—in some states, permanently unless you petition for the charge to be removed.
You may be able to have some points removed from your license sooner if you enroll in a state-approved defensive driving course. Check your state’s DMV webpage for details.
