Does insurance cover damage if you were hit while parked?

“Whether you’ll be covered will depend on the type of insurance you have.
If you have
collision insurance
, you would be able to submit a claim to repair the damage. You would still be responsible for your deductible though. If you don’t have collision insurance, you may not be able to get the damage covered.
Uninsured motorist coverage
does sometimes cover hit and runs, but where you were parked may be an issue. You’ll want to reach out to your car insurance carrier directly and find out what their terms and conditions are. An agent will be able to guide you on whether you are able to submit a claim.”
