Do Teslas have transmissions?
Can you clear up an argument for my friend and me? I think Teslas have a transmission but my friend is convinced that they don’t because they’re electric. Who is right?

You and your friend are both correct! While
Teslas
technically have a 1-speed automatic transmission, they don’t need to shift to function. Tesla vehicles don’t have a multi-speed transmission as you would find in a combustion engine.Internal combustion engines for gas-powered vehicles need a multi-speed transmission to allow for lower speeds. EVs can run on a single transmission drivetrain because they don’t need to adjust in the same way.
