Can you use electric cars for Uber?

I’m considering driving with Uber to make some extra money on the side, but I currently drive an electric vehicle. Seeing that driving range is a common issue with EVs, can you use an electric car for Uber?

Uber is a great side hustle idea! Yes,
electric cars
can be used for Uber in fact, the company has some incentives for EV drivers.
While using an EV to Uber may seem risky due to decreased driving range, the incentives may just make it worth it and help you make more money than you would in a gas engine car.
According to the Uber website, fully electric car drivers can partake in the Zero Emissions incentive which allows for an extra $1 in earnings per trip up to $4,000 per year.
Both electric and hybrid drivers can use Uber Green which earns drivers an extra $0.50 per trip. This is in addition to the savings from the Zero Emissions incentives.
GM is also offering up to almost $3,000 in savings on select 2021 or 2022 models of the new Chevrolet Bolt EV. Eligible Uber users apply for the GM employee discount. This does not include any other incentives your province or state may have for EV purchases.
These incentives are all a part of the company’s Green Future program and the offers end December 31, 2022.
