Can Nationwide’s Telematics Program save you money on your premiums?
I currently have my car insurance through Nationwide, and I’m pretty happy with them overall. I’m thinking about enrolling in their SmartRide program, but I’ve heard that some drivers don’t save any money with it. I feel like I’m a safe driver, and I mostly only drive to school and back—will Nationwide’s telematics program save me money?

But seriously,
Nationwide’s
telematics program can definitely save you money if you’re a consistently safe driver. You can enroll either by using the app (which tracks you), or if your car is compatible, you can get a device that tracks the vehicle itself. Unlike some other companies, Nationwide’s telematics program can only save you money, meaning it won’t increase your insurance rate if it detects behaviors it deems unsafe. This is pretty nice, as it means that you have nothing to lose by giving it a try!
Even if you decide that Nationwide’s telematics program isn’t for you, you can still save on your insurance. As long as you have a
clean driving record
free of accidents and violations, you won’t have to worry about your rates increasing. Better yet, you may qualify for a safe driver discount
! There are also lots of other discounts that you might be eligible for, so make sure to ask your agent about what’s available. Good student,
