How do you connect Bluetooth in a 2014 Ford Explorer?

I just bought a used Ford Explorer, but I’m not too tech-savvy and can’t figure out how to connect my phone. What do I do to connect to Bluetooth in a 2014 Ford Explorer?

Don’t worry, figuring out how to use car technology can be a little overwhelming—but we can give you a hand! The first thing you need to connect Bluetooth in your 2014
Ford Explorer
, is open the Bluetooth menu on your Android or Apple device, and make sure you have it enabled.
Next, turn on your Explorer, and follow these steps:
  • Press the PHONE button on your center dashboard.
  • Use the arrow keys to navigate through the options until you find add a Bluetooth device.
  • Press the OK button and wait for a PIN to display on your digital dashboard screen.
  • On your phone, find the Bluetooth devices list and select SYNC (this is the Ford’s Bluetooth).
  • Enter the PIN found on your Ford’s display screen and press OK.
At this point, your phone should pair with your 2014 Ford Explorer, giving you the ability to make and receive hands-free phone calls and text messages, access your contacts through your car’s dashboard controls, and use voice activation.
However, because the 2014 Explorer uses older technology, keep in mind that you’ll still need to use a physical auxiliary cable if you want to play music from your smartphone’s streaming apps through your car’s stereo system.
