“A red light camera ticket could raise your
car insurance
rates. However, the overall effect depends on where you live. Some cities don’t report red light or school zone camera tickets to the state. Others do.
To find out whether your city reports red light camera tickets to the state, search your state’s DMV website or your city’s website.
Both should list the type of violations that may impact your driving record and license. After getting a ticket, you can also see if it comes up on your driving record with the DMV. If it does, it can impact your car insurance rates. If you don’t see it on your driving record, it means it wasn’t reported to the state.
If you see a rate increase with your car insurance, it wouldn’t be related to the red light ticket. In this instance, you may want to shop around with other car insurance companies. Download the

app to compare quotes from some of the most reputable insurers in the business.”
