Remember that scene in Friends when Joey pretends he has a new Porsche and it just ends up being a pile of boxes?
Well,
Porsche
is releasing a limited-edition vehicle, and although only a few lucky people will be able to get their hands on this bad boy, the rest of us are going to learn everything we can about it and pretend we own one, like Joey.
Porsche is releasing the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 as part of a small, limited run. According to
Car and Driver
, the car’s availability will be incredibly low, and for Americans interested in the Porsche, it will be even rarer.
Just when you thought you saw the last drool-worthy sports car, Porsche releases this, and it’s enough to make this grown woman cry.

Porsche and Manthey-Racing

The Clubsport 25 is being released as a commemorative vehicle to celebrate the 25-year
partnership
between Porsche and Manthey-Racing.
This is why the vehicle will seem familiar to Porsche fans. Visually, the special edition vehicle may look more similar to an older Porsche 911 model, but just by design. Porsche wanted this model to be a sort of middle ground between the two most recent 911s.
Although it’s not groundbreaking from a technical standpoint for Porsche, it’s still a powerful racing vehicle.

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25

The 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 is a customer race car that would fit right in on the racetrack. The vehicle’s matte grey color with lime green details pays homage to Manthey-Racing.
Designed with aerodynamics in mind, the Porsche features a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged engine that can produce 690 horsepower.
Internally, it is important to remember that this is a racing vehicle. Because of this, drivers should not expect comfortable interior amenities. Instead, this Porsche has a single seat and roll cage just as similar models on the track do.

Fans of Porsche and Manthey-Racing have a chance to own this powerful commemorative vehicle. If they want to get it, though, they are going to have to act fast and pay a hefty price.
While
limited-edition
runs are common in luxury vehicles like this, this anniversary Porsche brings a new meaning to limited edition. In total, only 30 units of the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 will be produced. Out of those, only six units will make their way to the United States.
Managing to find one of these elusive Porsches could be hard enough, but affording it could be a different story entirely. The 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 will sell for $620,000 which is high compared to other standard Porsches but is a standard rate for a customer race car.
Whether you’re celebrating you and your car’s first or 25th anniversary, you both deserve to save and celebrate.
