There are two ways to open a stuck gas tank door on a
Toyota Camry
. First, you need to determine if your Toyota’s
fuel door is stuck or the release isn’t working. If the release isn’t working:
- Use your owner’s manual to find where the emergency release for your gas tank door is located. Typically, it is in the trunk, but the manual will give you the specific location.
- Use the emergency release to open your gas tank door.
If the door is stuck or jammed:
- Slide a credit card or use a flathead screwdriver to pry open the door while someone else presses the fuel door release button.
If neither of these tactics works, it’s time to head to a mechanic.
