The Best Full-Size Trucks of 2021 Are All American-Made
Many drivers choose to buy only American vehicles, which means choosing between Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge. The division among drivers of these top American auto manufacturers is on par with rival sports teams. Some drivers refuse to park next to a rival brand.
The rivalry continues as a full-size truck from Ford, Chevy, and Ram take the top three spots on Kelley Blue Book’s (KBB) list of the best pickup trucks for 2021. So which brand took the number one spot?
The Ford F-150 continues to be one of America’s favourite vehicles in 2021 | Twenty20
The 2021 Ford F-150 earned the top spot
It’s hard to beat out the Ford F-150. It’s been one of America’s favorite vehicles for years, and it just keeps getting better. KBB reported that, “the Ford F-150 has been the best-selling truck in America for 43 years because it consistently offers capability, value, innovation, and choice.”
Based on expert reviews, the F-150 can get pricey, and the largest models are hard to park and drive. But the pickup ranks high because it has the best towing power in this category, functional and luxurious interior, and innovative features.
The new model took home three awards from KBB for 2021: the Best Buy Award, 5-Year Cost to Own Award, and number one in Best Full-Size Pickups. Even Chevy and Ram drivers will grudgingly admit that it’s quite the truck. The truck earned 4.7 out of 5 stars in the review.
The 2021 Ram 1500 took second place
Even though Ram is no longer part of the Dodge lineup, many drivers still see the two as the same automaker. Dodge now focuses on cars and SUVs while Ram covers trucks, but Ram still competes with Ford and Chevy.
The Ram 1500 didn’t beat out the F-150, but it came close. KBB reported that, “against the best-selling Ford F-150 and GM Silverado/Sierra twins, the 2021 Ram 1500 pickup more than holds its own. It’s a handsome pickup, and it’s far more modern (inside and out) than the Toyota Tundra or Nissan Titan.”
The wide range of models helps the Ram 1500 stand out. For 2021, there are a total of 10. Typically, your budget determines which trim you’ll buy. With so many options for the Ram 1500, it might be hard to decide which one to invest in.
The 2021 Ram 1500 scored a 4.5 out of 5, and not too far off from first place. It has lots of storage, great horsepower, and one of the best infotainment setups. The F-150 overtakes the Ram 1500 in terms of towing and payload.
The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 took third place
The much beloved Chevy Silverado landed in third on the KBB rankings, and the reviews show that it’s still a great truck. The review points out that the Silverado has a “less tech-savvy interior than the Ram 1500” and “fewer luxury upgrades than the Ford F-150.”
It comes with useful features such as a multi-camera trailering system that makes towing trailers easier and less stressful. It also has wireless tech like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are a wide range of engine options, with safety systems included on lower trims.
The starting price of the Silverado is about $29,000, which is slightly cheaper than its competition. It wasn’t enough to match the features of the Ram 1500 or F-150, but it earned a score of 4.3 out of 5.
