How to check Mazda CX-3 tire pressure
The Mazda CX-3 is equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). If the tire pressure drops in one or more tires, a tire pressure warning light illuminates or flashes on the dashboard. The TPMS system on some models also beeps to alert you.
The only tool you need to check your tire pressure is a tire pressure gauge. Unscrew the valve stem cap on a tire and push the tire pressure gauge onto it. The gauge extends to give you a tire pressure reading so you know whether to add or remove air. Then, screw the cap back on and check the other tires.
It’s so easy to check tire pressure that you can do it at home, at a gas station (near the air filling station), or when you’re on the road—just find a safe spot to pull off first.
How often should you check tire pressure?
Mazda recommends that you check your tire pressure once a month. It’s also a good idea to do it before any big road trips. For instance, it’s a good idea to check the pressure if you notice vibration, trouble steering, or rough handling.
How to tell if your Mazda CX-3 needs new tires
Your Mazda CX-3 tires generally need to be replaced once every six years—but give them a once-over every time you check the tire pressure. If the treads look worn or lower than 2/32 of an inch, it’s time for new tires.

How to reset the Mazda CX-3 tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) light
Once you’ve inflated your tires to the correct psi, the TPMS light should turn itself off. If it doesn’t, you might have to
reset the TPMS
. Here’s what you need to do:First, drive for 10 minutes at a speed of 50 mph or higher. Sometimes, this is all it takes to reset the TPMS.
If that doesn’t work, turn off your CX-3. Turn the key to the “on” position, but don’t start the engine. Then, push and hold the TPMS reset button (below and to the left of the steering wheel). Keep pressing it until the tire pressure light blinks three times, then let go. Finally, start the car and drive around. It could take up to 20 minutes for the system to reset.
Take your CX-3 to your local Mazda service center if you still can’t reset the TPMS. They can diagnose the problem or malfunction and make the necessary repairs.
