How does Chrysler Roadside Assistance work?

Included with your Chrysler Factory Warranty purchase of new vehicles, roadside assistance provides free emergency services 24/7 in the United States and Canada.
For most Chrysler models, your factory warranty gives you free roadside assistance for five years or 60,000 miles for gas engines and up to 100,000 miles for diesel engines
Chrysler roadside assistance offers various services that can help you in a pinch. From flat tire changes to providing directions when you’re lost in the woods, roadside assistance has you covered.
Here are some perks of having Chrysler roadside assistance:
  • Flat tire
    service
  • Out of gas/fuel delivery
  • Jump start assistance
  • Towing service
  • Lockout service
In the event that your car can’t be driven, roadside assistance teams will bring your car to the nearest Chrysler dealership for servicing.
There are some terms and conditions to roadside assistance, however. For example, you can only use the fuel delivery service twice in a 12-month period and are limited to two gallons of fuel.
If you wish to be towed to a different dealership than the one that’s closest, you’ll have to pay fees if the drive adds more than 10 miles. Moreover, towing expenses that are the result of an accident will not be free of charge

How to use Chrysler roadside assistance

You can call Chrysler roadside assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling the appropriate toll-free number:
  • For service in the US: 1-800-521-2779
  • For service in Canada: 1-800-363-4869
When you make your call, make sure that you have your information ready. You will need:
  • Name of the owner of the vehicle
  • Vehicle Identification Number (or VIN; found on the inside of the door or on the registration)
  • License plate number
  • Current mileage
  • Your location
Once your representative gets all your information, you’ll be all set to receive services as soon as possible.

What if my Chrysler warranty expired?

You can still get roadside assistance if your Chrysler warranty has expired, but you’ll need to purchase another warranty to get services.
Mopar Vehicle Protection offers an
extended warranty plan
that gives you access to
Chrysler roadside assistance
Along with the usual roadside assistance services, Chrysler’s extended warranty plan for maximum coverage includes:
  • Rental car allowance of $35/day for a maximum of five days
  • $1,000 trip interruption allowance for lodging, food, and transportation if your vehicle experiences mechanical failure more than 100 miles from your home
  • Specific parts replacement
  • Auto Valet and Concierge service to book hotels, offer flight information, and “Turn by Turn” directions assistance
You’ll have to pay extra for an extended warranty, but some drivers find these services offer peace of mind when traveling often for work or leisure.

Is Chrysler Roadside Assistance worth it?

If your Chrysler vehicle is under warranty, you should definitely take advantage of these free roadside assistance services.
If your warranty is expired, purchasing the extended warranty with Mobar might not be worth it. Depending on your car and the type of plan you buy, a quote for an extended warranty can double or triple your car expenses for the length of your warranty.
It’s usually best to find other roadside assistance options outside of your car company. You can often purchase
towing and labor coverage
through your car insurance company as long as you have enough basic coverage.

Alternatives to Chrysler Roadside Assistance

If your Chrysler warranty has expired and you aren’t interested in their extended warranty options, consider these alternatives:
  • Cell phone companies (about $5 a month): Easy to link to a phone billing cycle—but it’s not available with all providers
  • Towing and labor coverage (under $20 a year): An affordable way to get roadside assistance from most insurers—but you may need to carry
    collision
    and
    comprehensive
    coverage first
The most cost-effective option is to buy a roadside assistance plan through your insurance company, especially if you already have
full-coverage insurance
