How does Jeep Roadside Assistance work?

As part of their warranty plan, Jeep Roadside Assistance is available 24/7 in the United States and Canada. Roadside Assistance for your Jeep is free and provided for model years 2017 to present for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. If you have a model year from 2013 to 2016, it’s five years or 100,000 miles. Jeep’s roadside assistance offers a wide variety of services, including:
  • Flat tire assistance
  • Fuel delivery
  • Battery jumpstarts
  • Lockout services
  • Towing to the nearest Jeep dealership
However, there are a few terms and conditions. For example, your Jeep warranty won’t cover any routine maintenance, such as oil changes, tire rotations, or alignments, unless you own a 2021 or newer Jeep and are a member of the
Jeep Wave
loyalty program.

How to use Jeep roadside assistance

You can contact Jeep roadside assistance 24/7 by calling this toll-free number:
  • Roadside assistance in the United States: 1-800-521-2779
  • Roadside assistance in Canada: 1-800-363-4869
Once you get in touch with a representative, they’ll need some important information to get you services quickly. When you call, make sure you have:
  • The name of the vehicle owner
  • Your vehicle identification number
  • Your license plate
  • The type of vehicle
  • Your location
  • What the problem is
Once your representative gets your info, you should be set to receive roadside assistance services as soon as possible.

What if my Jeep warranty is expired?

If your Jeep warranty has expired, you can still get roadside assistance by choosing to purchase an extended warranty
Mopar Vehicle Protection
offers an extended warranty through Jeep’s financial services, with tiered plans for different budgets. With Mopar’s Maximum Care Plan, you will receive:
  • Rental allowance of $35 per day for up to 5 days for rental car expenses in the event your covered car can’t be driven home.
  • $1,000 of trip interruption protection to pay for lodging, meals, and transportation if you’re 100 miles or more away from home.
  • Auto Valet and Concierge service that can book hotels, find restaurants, and offer “Turn by Turn” driving instructions if you need help with logistics.
You’ll pay extra for an extended warranty, but some drivers find it comforting to have access to a comprehensive roadside assistance plan, along with the maintenance and repair costs you’ll get by extending your warranty.

Is Jeep Roadside Assistance worth it?

If you need roadside services and your car is within its warranty, definitely take advantage of Jeep Roadside Assistance.
If your warranty has expired, it might not be worth it to purchase an extended warranty through a third party. An extended warranty carries a hefty cost that could double or triple your car expenses for the length of the warranty you purchase. If you’re not looking to break the bank for peace of mind, it’s a good idea to look into alternative ways to get roadside assistance.

Alternatives to Jeep Roadside Assistance

If your Jeep’s warranty is expired and you’re not interested in purchasing an extended warranty, here are a few other ways you can get roadside assistance that isn’t as expensive:
  • Cell phone companies (about $5 a month): Easy to link to a phone billing cycle—but not available from all providers
  • Towing and labor coverage
(under $20 a year): An affordable way to get roadside assistance from most insurers—but you may need to carry
    collision
    and
    comprehensive
    coverage, as well
The cheapest option for roadside assistance is probably through your insurance company. If you have
full-coverage insurance
, talk to your agent about including roadside assistance coverage.

FAQ

Whether or not buying an extended warranty for your Jeep is worth it depends on your budget. While the services offered by Mopar’s Maximum Care plan are great, they come at a cost, and you can end up paying a lot of money for a service you might not use during your warranty period.
