Restrictions on a North Dakota learner’s license

There are certain restrictions you must comply with when driving with a learner’s permit in North Dakota. These limitations include when you can operate your vehicle as well as who’s allowed to accompany you while you drive.
But learner’s permit restrictions depend on your age. If you’re 15 years old, you cannot drive your vehicle between sunset or 9 pm and 5 am unless you have a supervising driver in the front seat with you. You can also drive between these times if you’re driving directly to work or a school or religious activity.
This time restriction does not apply to teen drivers who are 16 or 17 years old—though you still have to be accompanied by a supervising driver
Restrictions are never fun for anyone involved. But the good news is that they will come to an end once you officially turn 18 years old. However, until that time comes, the North Dakota DMV enforces these restrictions for your safety and the safety of other drivers on the road.
