offers
full coverage
car insurance for drivers in California, including liability insurance, collision coverage, and comprehensive coverage.

Here’s what Infinity full coverage policies include

Like most providers, Infinity—a Kemper insurance company—doesn’t offer an official “full coverage” policy, but you can build a full coverage
car insurance
plan with the following coverages:

Liability insurance is required in California (and nearly every other state) and covers the medical expenses and damages of the other driver if you’re at fault in an accident.

If your vehicle is damaged in a collision with another vehicle or a stationary object, collision insurance pays to repair or replace it.

If your vehicle is stolen or damaged by something other than a collision (natural disasters, fire, vandalism, hitting an animal, falling objects, etc.), comprehensive insurance will cover the cost of repairing or replacing your vehicle.
If your state requires uninsured motorist protection, personal injury protection, or MedPay, you can purchase a full coverage policy with these mandated coverages plus liability insurance, collision coverage, and comprehensive insurance.

Add-ons for a full coverage Infinity car insurance policy

Despite its name, full-coverage car insurance doesn’t cover everything that an insurance policy has to offer.
Infinity offers many other car insurance coverage options that can be combined with the typical full coverage protections for an even stronger insurance policy.
Type of coverage
Description
Infinity’s UM/UIM insurance covers medical expenses, loss of wages, and other injury-related losses, along with possible damages to your vehicle if you’re in an accident with another driver who lacks insurance (or whose coverage lacks sufficient funds to address your costs).
Medical payments (MedPay) coverage from Infinity will cover medical expenses and even funeral costs if you or one of your passengers are seriously injured in an accident.
Infinity DriverClub is the insurance provider’s 24/7 roadside assistance program. Membership is free and you only pay when you use the service. Roadside assistance usually covers towing, tire changes, lockout services, and even mechanical work if you get stranded on the road.
With this add-on, Infinity will cover the cost of a rental if your vehicle needs to be in the repair shop after an accident.
If you drive for a rideshare company like Uber or Lyft, rideshare insurance can help protect you while you’re between passengers.
If you have a loaned or leased vehicle: You’ll need to carry a full coverage car insurance policy. Be sure to speak with your lender to confirm the required coverage for your car.

What isn’t covered by an Infinity full coverage policy?

A full coverage Infinity policy will offer protection for:
  • Liability claims: Claims that other drivers make for vehicle repairs or medical bills after an accident that you cause
  • Comprehensive claims: Claims filed by you for damage to your vehicle from perils such as severe weather, floods, theft, vandalism, and more.
  • Collision claims: Claims for collision damage to your vehicle after an accident with another car, a collision with a stationary object, or damage to your vehicle while parked.
Here’s what it will not cover unless the coverage is mandated in your state.

Infinity full coverage policies cost around $2,075

On average, it costs about $2,075 per year for a full coverage car insurance policy from Infinity.  Infinity’s full coverage average rate is slightly below the national average of $2,264, but it’s still on the high side.   1

car insurance quotes
from three to five different providers.

Does Infinity offer the best full coverage insurance?

Infinity may offer the best full coverage for some drivers, but not for everyone.
Insurance for high-risk drivers
Infinity insurance mainly focuses on non-standard car insurance for risky drivers (for example,
young drivers
and
drivers with DUIs
) who can’t purchase regular policies through other traditional providers due to a poor driving record or claims history. If you fall into this “non-standard” category, you might be able to get a fair price for full coverage from Infinity.
Every insurance company uses a different set of calculations to determine rates for policyholders based on aspects like demographics, credit score, location, make/model, driving history, and more. If you happen to have a
clean driving record
and
good credit
, you might score a great deal on full coverage with Infinity—but you might find an even better one elsewhere.
It’s important to keep in mind one of Infinity’s biggest opportunities for improvement: customer satisfaction. Infinity gets a poor rating from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and it received a 1.5/5 rating in Jerry’s country-wide survey of over 15,000 policyholders. Infinity auto insurance has received more customer complaints than the average insurance company as claims adjusters are reportedly difficult to get reach by phone.
On the other hand, Infinity has excellent financial strength ratings, which refers to the insurer’s ability to pay out claims to customers when the time comes.
The bottom line: Compare auto insurance quotes from different car insurance companies before you purchase a full coverage policy from Infinity. You may be able to find a cheaper rate from a provider with better customer satisfaction ratings.

Is an Infinity full-coverage auto insurance policy worth it?

A full coverage policy from Infinity may be worth it if you can secure an affordable rate. Here are a few pros and cons to consider before you buy an Infinity policy.
iconPros
Meet all requirements from your car lender or leasing provider
Feel calmer navigating extreme weather or high auto theft areas
Can file a claim for a totaled vehicle if you get in a collision
iconCons
Your auto insurance premiums will likely increase if an insurance claim is filed
You have to pay a deductible on a collision or comprehensive claim before accessing coverage
If you’re concerned about the price of full coverage insurance, ask about car insurance discounts. Infinity offers a multi-policy discount if you have homeowners insurance and auto insurance, a pay-in-full discount if you pay your total annual insurance bill upfront, and more.

FAQs

What is included in full coverage?

Full coverage car insurance includes state-mandated coverage, like liability insurance, and collision and comprehensive coverage. For example, a full coverage policy in California will include $15,000 of bodily injury liability coverage per person, $30,000 of bodily injury liability per accident, $5,000 of property damage liability coverage per accident, and collision and comprehensive coverage.

What is the cheapest full-coverage car insurance?

The cheapest full-coverage car insurance policy will have your state’s minimum car insurance limits and comprehensive and collision coverage with the highest deductibles available (typically $1,000).

Does Infinity full coverage cover other drivers?

Car insurance usually follows the vehicle rather than the driver, so your Infinity full coverage policy will likely cover any driver that operates your vehicle.

Why is full coverage insurance so high?

Full coverage car insurance policies cost more than state minimum coverage because they offer financial protection if you require repairs or replacements for your vehicle. Collision and comprehensive insurance will increase your rate because there is a higher chance that you will file a claim for covered perils.

What is the difference between full coverage and liability insurance?

Liability insurance pays for the other driver’s vehicle repairs and medical bills following an accident that you cause.
Full coverage provides liability insurance and collision and comprehensive coverage, which covers your vehicle after a collision or damage from things like severe weather, vandalism, fires, floods, or theft.
Most policyholders also increase their liability coverage limits when they purchase a full coverage policy.

How much does full coverage insurance cost?

Full coverage car insurance costs an average of $2,264 per year. Alternatively, state minimum liability coverage costs $1,526 on average.

What are the different types of full coverage insurance?

Full coverage insurance typically offers two types of auto insurance coverage that state minimum insurance doesn’t: collision coverage and comprehensive coverage.
Collision insurance covers damage to your vehicle from a collision with another vehicle, a stationary object, or if your car is hit while parked. Comprehensive insurance will cover compensation for your vehicle repairs or replacements if it is damaged by a falling object, floods, vandalism, and more.

What is the best full-coverage insurance company?

There isn’t a single insurance company that consistently offers the best car insurance rates and service for full coverage, but drivers often get cheap full coverage policies with great service from GEICO, State Farm, Progressive, Allstate, and USAA.

Where is Infinity auto insurance available?

Infinity insurance is only available in California.
