How to save on your Michigan auto insurance

Realize that the cheapest insurance company for one person might not be the best rates for you. You’ve got insurance options! Car insurance rates and premiums are determined by looking closely at personal factors like the car you drive, your driving history, and what coverage you select.
Michigan recently enacted consumer protection legislation that prohibits insurers from using certain non-driving related personal factors when setting insurance premiums. For example, insurers can’t use your credit score, zip code, or marital status to set your rates.
You probably know that you need to shop around but don’t let yourself get overwhelmed. Compare quotes from at least 3 to 5 insurance providers before you pick one.
Jerry
, the free car insurance comparison app, can help! We’ll search our network of over 50 of the top insurers to give you the best
car insurance quotes
.
Don’t forget to factor in any
car insurance discounts
that you might qualify for since these can make a big dent in your auto insurance rates. Once you’ve chosen a car insurance policy, ask your insurance agent about popular discounts like bundling your homeowners or renters and auto insurance, being a good student, or signing up for their
telematics
or
safe driver program
.

Cutting corners on your Michigan car insurance can leave you vulnerable

If you’re on a tight budget, it’s tempting just to get

For even more protection, consider adding the following coverage options:
