No one shopping for a Camaro has practicality in mind. It’s all about muscle for these Chevys—and the 2015 model’s three engine options certainly deliver in that department. Any one of these engines makes for an athletic and fun driving experience, carrying on the Camaro’s iconic legacy.

2015 Chevrolet Camaro horsepower

The 2015 Chevrolet Camaro can generate anywhere from 323 to 580 horsepower depending on which of the three engine options lives under its hood.
The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 capable of 323 horsepower @ 6,800 RPM and 278 lb-ft @ 4800 RPM. This engine is available in four trims: 1LS, 2LS, 1LT, and 2LT. If you’re looking for the ultimate sports car experience, a six-speed manual transmission is standard—but if you prefer the ease of an automatic, that’s available too.
No matter the trim, all Camaros are set with rear-wheel drive. The fair market value for used models with this engine range from $13,170 to $17,200
If you’re looking for a little more juice, the next step up is a V8 engine generating 426 horsepower @ 5900 RPM and 420 lb-ft @ 4600 RPM. This engine comes on the 1SS and 2SS trims, and it’s also paired with either a manual or automatic six-speed transmission. For these models, you can expect to pay anywhere from $19,200 to $21,600
Finally, there are two performance-oriented Camaros with two robust engine options between them: the ZL1 and the Z/28. The Z/28 comes with a 7.0-liter V8 engine making up to 505 horsepower @ 6,100 RPM and 481 lb-ft @ 4,800 RPM. For this model, you can expect to dish out between $38,750 and $43,500
The ZL1 houses the most powerful engine in the 2015 lineup: a 6.2-liter V8 engine creating 580 horsepower @ 6,000 RPM and 556 lb-ft @ 4,200 RPM. The ZL1’s acceleration is almost dizzying, reaching 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds
As an added bonus, it’s also the most comfortable Camaro variation. All of that power and comfort come at a price, though—an average of $35,000 to be exact.
