Will car insurance companies know that I work for Instacart?
I damaged my car while working for Instacart. I'm wondering if Progressive can tell that I was on the clock when the damage was done. Do they have access to my hours?
“I’m sorry to hear about your car damage! Driving your car for work definitely comes with its drawbacks. While your car insurance company won’t have access to your hours, they may ask you specifics regarding the accident if you file a claim.
Since you were delivering groceries for Instacart, Progressive could discover this through their investigation of the accident. If you don’t have the proper coverage on your policy for business use or ridesharing, they may deny your claim.
Although it may be tempting not to tell Progressive that the accident occurred while working for Instacart, it would be in your best interest to do so. Leaving out this information could constitute insurance fraud and cause Progressive to cancel your policy.
If you continue to work for Instacart, be sure you have the proper coverage on your vehicle. While you may not get this claim covered, you can prevent paying out of pocket for future claims. You’ll have to check with Progressive as you may need a commercial policy or ridesharing coverage on your current policy.

How can I get my roommate removed from my policy?
Recently, my GEICO insurance went up about 200%. I had a claim for a no-fault accident, but when I called GEICO they said the major reason for the rate hike was adding my roommate, who has multiple claims. They said because he is a licensed driver who lives with me, he needs to be listed on my policy, even if he has his own insurance. Is there any way to remove him?
