Why is my Chrysler 300 making a ticking noise when I drive?

Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve noticed my Chrysler 300 making a weird ticking noise. It sounds like it’s coming from the engine, but I’m not sure. Why is it doing that?

The most common reasons a Chrysler 300 makes a ticking noise is low oil level or pressure, the ignition system, or, more uncommonly, an exhaust leak.
Some other sources suggest a few other reasons for a ticking or clicking noise: Weak battery: A clicking noise from the engine compartment when starting the vehicle could indicate sufficient charge in the battery to activate the solenoid (the source of the clicking) but not enough charge to power the starter. Poor battery connection: If the battery on your Chrysler 300 is in good health, it may be the connection. If the current flow is interrupted due to a loose electrical connection, a broken wire, or corrosion on the battery terminals, it could lead to a clicking noise.
Other reasons are:
  • Poor starter electrical connection
  • Bad ground connection
  • Bas starter motor
  • Engine failure
If you suspect something is wrong with your Chrysler, call your local dealership or schedule an appointment with your local mechanic to have it checked out. But in any case, following a regular
car maintenance schedule
is key to preventing issues before they arise or escalate. On top of keeping your car running well, consider upgrading your
car insurance
policy to include more comprehensive coverage.
