Where is the battery in a Chevrolet Camaro?
I accidentally left my headlights on and when I started my car this morning, my battery was dead. I have jumper cables, but when I opened the hood, I couldn’t find my battery! Where is the battery located in a Chevrolet Camaro?

If you didn’t find your Camaro’s battery under the hood, chances are (especially if your Camaro is a 2018 or newer) the battery is located in the trunk on the passenger’s side. There will be a door or panel you’ll have to open to access the battery itself.
Many automakers started putting batteries in the trunk rather than under the hood, and for good reasons:
- Space - taking the battery out of the engine compartment frees up a lot of space for engine components
- Temperature - high heat takes a toll on car batteries, so moving them to the trunk keeps them away from hot engine temperatures
- Weight - batteries are heavy – the 2021 Camaro’s battery is 54 pounds! Moving the battery to the trunk helps even out the weight distribution on your vehicle
Once you locate your battery, you should be able to jumpstart it without issue.
