Where is the 2016 Mini Cooper OBD port location?

I just bought a used Mini and the engine light came on. I have a code reader but I’ve never used it with a Mini. Where is the 2016 Mini Cooper OBD port location?

The 2016
Mini Cooper
OBD port location is near the pedals, to the left below the dashboard.
It sounds like you already know how to
read car OBD codes
. But allow us to remind you that OBD codes can vary across manufacturers. When you’re looking up the meaning of a trouble code, include “Mini Cooper” in your search to find the correct trouble code.
These codes are typically five digits. In Minis, codes that start with P are related to the powertrain. If there’s a 0 in the second position, it indicates a generic issue (as opposed to a 1 which indicates a manufacturer-specific issue). The last three digits will point you to a specific system in the vehicle.
If you bought this used Mini Cooper fairly recently, you might have some recourse. Some states have
lemon laws
that apply to used vehicles. Your Mini may still be under warranty if it recently had work done.
