What's the best way to remove a dent from your door if you do it at home?
I opened my car door too quickly and bashed it into a table in my garage, which created a small dent. How can I remove the dent without going to the auto body shop?

That’s a shame that you
dented your car door
, but hopefully, this little fix can make your car door look new again.Here’s what you need to do:
- Heat the area with a blow dryer for about 30 seconds
- Put foil over the affected area
- Then, put dry ice over the foil—note that dry ice should be handled with extreme caution
- The dent should pop out in about a minute
The reason this works is due to the expansion and contraction of metal under heat and cold. For small dents, this is just as effective as taking your car to the auto body shop.
