What's the best route from DC to Niagara Falls?

I love waterfalls. No matter where I travel, I always want to see one to make the trip complete. Oddly enough, I’ve never been to Niagara Falls before, but I want to drive there this summer. What’s the best driving route from DC to Niagara Falls?

If you love waterfalls, Niagara Falls is probably the Holy Grail to you—not only is it one of the larger waterfalls in the world, but you can also get two vantage points depending on whether you’re in Canada or
New York
. If you’re planning on a road trip, the best route from DC to Niagara Falls is:
  • Take I-495 to I-270 to get out of DC.
  • Take exit 32 off I-270 to get on I-70 West.
  • Merge onto I-76 West.
  • Take exit 146 for I-99 North.
  • Take exit 52 for PA-350.
  • Make a left onto US-522 West.
  • Take I-80 West.
  • Take exit 111 for PA-153 North.
  • Go right on US-219.
  • Take exit 53 for I-190.
  • Take exit 22 for US-62 and drive straight to Niagara Falls.
