What type of oil does the 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 need?

I need to top off the oil in my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. What type of oil should I buy? I’ve never had to top off the oil before.

The 2011
Dodge Ram 1500
requires 5W-20 grade oil. Your Ram will require seven quarts of oil in total, but you shouldn’t have to add that much to your oil reservoir when topping off your oil.
Make sure to check your oil level before and after adding more oil to your vehicle. This will prevent you from overfilling or underfilling your oil reservoir by mistake.
If you’re losing oil quickly, though, it might be time to talk to a mechanic about the issue. Older vehicles do sometimes require top-offs on their oil levels, but consistently low oil could be an indicator of a more serious problem with your vehicle.
