What Should I Do If A Tree Is Blocking My Driveway?

So, I’m not really sure what to do. I came outside this morning, and a fallen tree was blocking my driveway. Not a branch, a whole tree. I couldn’t get my car out, so I just called in sick to work. Who can I call to get this thing out of here?

I’m sorry that you’ve got a tree blocking your driveway—at least it didn’t hit your house or car!
First, you should look to see if there are any downed power lines. If there are, call your electric company—they will come and handle the downed (and potentially still live) lines.
Next, call a local tree trimming service to come and chop up and remove the tree. Depending on why the tree fell, there is a chance your homeowner insurance policy covers the cost of tree removal.
Other than that, the only thing you need to do is enjoy your unexpected day off! It might also be a good time to review the coverage quality and overall
cost of your homeowners insurance
policy.
