How do I cancel a Ford extended warranty?

I recently purchased a new Ford vehicle and I bought the extended warranty on top of the factory warranty. However, I’ve just had a life event that requires some extra cash—I really want to cancel the extended warranty and get reimbursed, but I’m not sure if that’s possible. What do I need to do to cancel a Ford extended warranty?

Sorry to hear about your costly life event. The good news is that you can cancel a Ford extended warranty by calling the dealership where you purchased the vehicle or by sending a letter or calling the Ford extended warranty branch. Due to the time constraints, you’ll want to call the dealership as soon as possible.
If you cancel the warranty within 30 days of purchase, Ford will give you a full refund less a $75 administrative fee. If you’re beyond the 30 days, Ford will still give you a prorated refund that’s based on time and mileage, provided you haven’t made any claims on the warranty.
