What is the warranty on a Honda hybrid battery?

I think we want to buy a new hybrid Honda Civic, but I’ve heard hybrid batteries are super expensive to replace. What’s the warranty for a Honda hybrid battery?

The warranty on a
Honda
 hybrid battery lasts eight years or 100,000 miles and covers any battery capacity degradation that’s higher than normal.
Beyond that, your
Civic Hybrid
 will be covered by the company’s standard three-year, 36,000-mile new vehicle warranty.
Check your warranty booklet or contact Honda to find out what other coverage, if any, may apply.
Here’s what Honda covers for your hybrid powertrain:
  • Hybrid battery module
  • Drive motor control module
  • Battery control module
  • Drive motor/generator stators and rotors
  • High voltage bypass contactors and fuse
