What is the Oregon speed limit?

I’ve always wanted to explore Oregon. My friend used to live there and said the best way to do it is by car. Since I’ve never driven in Oregon before, I just want to make sure I know how fast I can go—what is the speed limit in Oregon?

The
Oregon
speed limit is 70 mph maximum, but only on rural stretches of the interstate.
Obviously, the speed limit will change based on the type of road, the amount of traffic, and how populated the area is. Here are the other speed limits throughout the Beaver State:
  • 65 mph on some stretches of the interstate
  • 55 mph on rural and state highways
  • 25 mph along the ocean shore and public parks and in residential areas
  • 20 mph school zones and business districts
  • 15 mph on narrow residential roadways and alleys
Exceeding the Oregon speed limit could land you with a
speeding ticket
on your
Oregon driving record
, which can increase your car insurance rates. Download the
